KAD IZKI into Russian is «mill-stone of time». In the Komi language «kad» means «time» and «izki» means «mill-stone». The structure of the calendar is based on the structure of the ancient hunting calendar, found on the territory of the Komi Republic. The year is divided not into 12 months as usually but into 9 periods, connected with the year cycles of the animals of the northern boreal forests. The calendar is decorated with the graphical series KAD IZKI by an artist Yuriy Lisovskiy from Syktyfkar. Design and creative execution is made by the company «Master-flok».
